tha sampler...

I've always been known for my eclectic taste in music. I've seen everyone in concert from 98 Degrees and Monica to Our Lady Peace and Finger 11. I'm also known for introducing people to less-exposed artists - and that is what this page is for. These are acts I feel are worth looking into by everyone. If you click on the pics, you get to their sites. I hope yall check into everyone on this page - You might be hearing alot more from each one in the future. I'll be adding a new artist or group every once in a while, but for now, enjoy the ones already up. And, please, take a minute to read why you need real player for these.

Nicole Wray

I don't know a thing about Nicole Wray except for that I started listenin to her back when Aaliyah was still around. She had a really good song called "Make It Hot" (if you're a mid-90s R&B fan, then you know that song by heart) and she was featured on some Missy Elliot tracks ("why you all in mah grill!?"). Her second album was entirely shelfed but she's coming back with a new one. Her voice sounds amazing as ever and this time around, she's singin to help empower us females. Listen up ladies! Nicole's got a message...

"It's a Man's World" ft Mike Jones
With the help of Mike Jones, done over "Still Tippin" beat. Very good song.

"Can't Get Out The Game" ft Beanie Sigel
Old School typical love story: Girl falls in love with Gangsta - Gangsta gets her shot.

other good songs not featured here: Regrets (with Jay-Z), Make It Hot, Eyes Better Not Wander.

Kiley Dean

Kiley Dean is tha pimpinest of white girls to ever walk the earth. I remember hearing her for the first time during the summer of 2003 in California, when Power 106 started playing "Make Me A Song", a track giving props to Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Tweet, and Aaliyah. Everyone on the west coast was feelin the song... until they found out she was white. We had just finished up Aaliyah's candle light vigil in LA, and people felt it was too soon for a white girl to sign with a black label (Beat Club) and start singin about Aaliyah. All of the sudden, Kiley's spins dropped. I still love Kiley to death and jam her music every day but because "MMAS" was turned down by the public, it's hard to find KD anywhere outside of the stereo's of the fans that got to hear her last summer. I think Kiley is talented off her ass and deserves another chance.

"Make Me A Song"
Kiley's first single. The one that convinced everyone she was black.

"Keep It Movin"
Currently being tested as a single in Florida, it's probably Timbaland's best production to date.

other good songs not featured here: Who Will I Run To?, America, Busy, Be Alone, Confused (sexy ass song), No, & Kiss Me Like That.

A Perfect Circle

I fucking love this band. Featuring members from Tool, Primus, and a few others (i think), this band was originally thrown together by Maynard James Keenan as a side-project - it soon turned into a full blown band with two albums and some tours. I don't think APC gets as much attention as they should. It's an awesome chemistry they have going and both albums are entirely to die for. If you're a fan of Tool and/or Primus, you'll love A Perfect Circle probably about as much as I do - but I'm obsessed so maybe not...

"Judith"
Off their first album - amazing ass song - listen to the lyrics...

"The Outsider"
From the second album, it reminds me of someone - talk about "suicidal imbiciles"!

other good songs not featured here: Hollow, Weak & Powerless, The Noose, & Pet (another amazing song).

Teedra Moses

I'm not too big a fan of this girl, but tha woman can sing. The production on her tracks is always tight, the lyrics are always commerically acceptable, and, with the right promotion, I think she'll go somewhere with this. I heard about Teedra after I moved back from Cali - she was one of Butta's Bootleg artists with "You'll Never Find". I listened to it, loved the music, felt her on the lyrics, and started the street teaming. I think she's talented and deserves all that comes to her.

"You'll Never Find" ft Jadakiss
A tight song about love lost and the scorn that comes with it...

"Doin You"
A good enough song - I'm feelin the beat...

other good songs not featured here: Be Your Girl & No More Tears... Her album has yet to be released.
