O.W. SAMSON TRAVELLING AWARD, THE ROYAL ASIATIC SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND. The deadline for 1992 awards was the end of May, but keep this in mind for next year. Announcement: Applications are invited for a recently instituted travelling scholarship in memory of the late Dr. O.W. Samson, to enable a graduate student to travel in furtherance of his/her research. Applicants should have completed their first degree at a British University and be registered or be intending to register for a higher degree in the fields of archaeology or anthropology relating to Asia. There is no restriction on age or nationality, but no scholar will be permitted to receive the award more than once. The value of the award is expected to be in the region of 1,000 British pounds. Applications giving full details of the applicant's academic career and research interests, the project for which the grant is sought, and the names of two referees acquainted with the applicant's work, should be submitted to the Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, 60 Queens Gardens, London W2 3AF. WENNER-GREN FOUNDATION FOR ANTHROPOLOGICAL RESEARCH will support research in all branches of anthropology and in related disciplines pertaining to the science of humankind.
