The intent and purpose behind this website is to expand the customer base beyond the brick and mortar store located in Boston to include regional as well as an international presence. My uncle's small business, Your Sports Boston, was created to provide Boston sports fans with the ultimate event experience. I researched sports websites both small and large to find just the right size for this website. I got the idea by combining the purpose of a business like stub-hub and the website Official Fan Package. As outlined in the rubric I made sure that my website has 5 pages including a Home page and an About page. I also wanted a contact page where I could code a form and a table so users could fill out the form for more information, feedback, complaints, etc., and a table which would highlight the hours of operation of the brick and mortar store.
I kept my design simple and colorful and easy to use. The theme is Boston sports which showcases primary colors like reds, blues, greens and yellows, which I used in each of the 5 pages. I made a separate page which has the four packages offered for each of the four sports teams shown in the Home page. I also embedded video of fans showing why they love their teams.
I would like to continue to learn more about website design because in the future my family members would like to have websites dedicated to their businesses and I can help. If I had more time I would learn how to make my website responsive to the various platforms such as iPads and mobile phones. For future updates I would add a shopping cart, secure payment features, and add social media links and content. The possibilities are endless when it comes to the World Wide Web and website design.
