In 1955, the Terraglia Family came to America from the
city of Avellino, in the Campania region of Southern
Italy.
After settling here in the United States, brothers Salvatore
and Luigi, under the guidance of their parents Giovanni
and Assunta, opened their first restaurant in 1965.
This restaurant was Conca D'Oro located on Front
street in Plainfield, New Jersey. They started as a
small family restaurant and pizzeria, but soon expanded to
a 400 seat restaurant with a separate pizzeria.
With the success of Conca D'oro, the brothers opened a
second restaurant, Portofino, as a seafood and steak
restaurant. Portofino was located on Somerset Street in
North Plainfield.
Luna Rossa and La Pizzeria were opened by Sal and Lou
in June 1991. Luna Rossa and La Pizzeria are located
in Pluckemin, the historic village of the township of
Bedminster, New Jersey.
After over 30 successful years, Salvatore and Luigi
came to the difficult decision to sell Conca D'Oro and
concentrate their efforts on Luna Rossa and La
Pizzeria.
Over 4 decades later, the brothers maintain the
highest standards when it comes to the quality of fine
Italian cuisine, from hand cut milk- fed baby veal and
chicken, the Black Angus Beef, vegetables and
seafood that are delivered fresh daily, and even Sal's
homemade tiramisu. which is like no other. Sal's homemade pasta is featured on the
specials menu daily. At Luna Rosa, you can be sure that each dish is made fresh to order.
Beyond the traditional Italian dishes, you will find a
variety of other selections on our menu or daily
specials. From our famous Stuffed Portobello Mushroom,
to the Fried Calamari that hundreds of faithful
customers swear is the best in the state! La
Pizzeria, not to be outdone by the generous portions,
has some signature pizza of its own, the biggest and
most famous of which is our Lasagna Pizza. One slice is a meal!
Layered and prepared fresh daily, you have to call
ahead or get in early for lunch if you want a slice!
Besides great food, the brothers are also interested
in their community. La Pizzeria has sponsored a
little league team in the Bedminster-Far Hills area
since 1995. They have donated anything from gift
certificates to trays of food to different
organizations. You can also find us at Fall Fest!
At any given point you can find a member of the family
on premise to ensure the highest quality of service
and product. We are proud to be the oldest restaurant
in Somerset County.
From our family to yours, Buon Appetito!
