This means that many new versions of DooM are now available for you to download. See the LINKS section below for links to various sites where you can locate the appropriate files. These sites include TNT's BooM & DosDooM along with, others - but so far the most impressive work are Leprechaun DooM, Z-DooM, & GL-DooM.

jDoom is an enhanced win32 version of id Software's legendary Doom.

Tips & Help

Q: How can I play Legacy over the modem?
- A: That's not supported by Legacy yet but if you have Win95 then you can create a Dial-Up Server with one computer and connect to it with the second. For instructions how, click here...

- A: Several DooMers have also informed me that they renamed Doom3.exe to Doom2.exe and then used DM.EXE to start a game just as they used to. This will not allow more than 2 players for modem games and 4 players for Lan games but will still allow you to use all the other new features of Legacy.
- A: Another DooMer recommended the use of other sersetup replacements such as HX8.ZIP which allows daisy-chaining serial ports and specifying the game EXE file.

Z-DooM
There's a new kid on the block and it's a good one. Z-DooM combines parts of Legacy, BooM, and DosDooM and brings them all together in a native Win95 program. This could be a contender and is looking great already.
