The graveyard of Rame Head church contains the graves of several Seaman drowned at sea. A poignant reminder of the power of the sea to snatch life away.

Aged 28 Years
In the Midst of life we are in death
 
Thomas Spriddle
Seaman on board of HMS ??RIDICE
Who was drowned on her Foundering
March 24th 1878
Aged 30 years
Also Richard Spriddle
Brother of above
Seaman on board of HMS WASP(?)
Who was drowned on her foundering off Tory  Island September 22nd 1884 aged 29 Years
And the sea shall give up her dead
