March 28th, 2006After missing class on Thursday, I'll turn in the project today... easy little project. Here's my PaperFor this project, I chose to do a “Blog”. Primarily I chose this idea because it’s something I’ve had going for some time… seemed a good use for a website that was just sitting there. The subject matter is me, and my life. I have a textual journal, the home page, I also have a few sections that are pictures of friends, family, and my life in general. There’s a page devoted to my computer animation, and another devoted to riddles, which I enjoy. There is also a page that is comprised of quotes from the TV and Movies that I enjoy. Last but not least is a page of links. Which represent some of the many things I do in my normal life. Target audience for my site is my friends and family. I don’t consider this a “commercial” site, not meant for anyone to go to and read about me. However I haven’t updated it in some time. So no one really visits anymore. The internet make the best home for my site because my friends and family are widespread across the country, so there’s no good way to keep them all updated on a non-irritating way (e-mails every week from me might get old). This way anyone who wants to read about what’s been going on with me can, no pressure. I suppose that my intended audience would first be made aware of my site by e-mail and word of mouth. After that, they would be on their own to check for updates and the like. Access for my audience is simple… computer, internet, address. Easy to get to, easy to use. I realize this paper may be a bit short, but I really don’t know what else to say. All the information mentioned in the handout is here, but with no length mentioned, I just got to the point. March 21st, 2006Today's update is all about the fact that I'm using this site to be project number two in my Media Discussion class. Actually, since I never get around to updating, and few people read this, I guess that's all I need to say. I imagine I'll have the paper I'm supposed to have written here as well, that's to come. Note... Due to the teacher not communicating, I have another entire two days. Oh well. I'm still waiting to go see V for Vendetta, Just waiting for one of my friends to be avaliable... college and projects tend to take up a lot of time. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion comes out today... I have it pre-ordered, so I'll go pick it up after class. March 14th, 2006It's the end of the world... I've actually made a update. I never seem to have time or remember to update my site. And in the end, I'm trying to switch to a new site. The new one will have new and interesting features (have I said all this before?) Basically I'm coping out here, just giving a reason... sorta. October 18thI've gotten a computer animation uploaded, if you really wish to see it, go to here. It's not bad, but it needs work, and that's what I'm doing. I'll post a link to the new one when it's ready. Classes are going well... I just finished a project for my New Media II class. It's a flash production, so go here. September 29thToday is Thursday... the longest school day I have. I'm at school from 2pm to 11pm. Today though, it's a good thing. It started raining sometime after 2pm, but according to the weather web site, the rain should stop before I leave. I must say, it was very funny to see half my psychology class walk in soaking wet, including the teacher. Considering that I carry my laptop around in my backpack, I'm just as glad to not get out in the rain. Let's see, tomorrow I'm supposed to meet Angus, coffie or dinner or something. Should be good, I'm sure he's a nice guy if Julia is so goofy over him. September 27thAs you may well be able to tell, I have a new layout running. This is what happens when I learn some new toys. In this case it's javascript. I would like to point out that I did not actually write the code for all this, but got it off a web site. I would also like to add that I DO understand what's going on in the code, which is good. Ok, so I never updated this summer... what can I say. I had a job, basically I was a camp counsler for 13 year olds going to an engenering summer camp. Made enought money that I was able to buy a new laptop, since my old one finally bit it. I also got to see all my friends over the summer, which was really fun. And now Elaine is up here in the same city! So that's really nice. I've changed apartments, and I'm now downtown and closer to campus... closer as in 10 min walk rather than 30+ min ride. Started classes, New Media Production II (where I picked up Javascript), Computer Animation (finally, and I'm already ahead thanks to all the teaching myself I did), Narative Ethics (fills a requirement), and Developmental Psychology (to finish out my minor). Not much else going on at the moment, as I find/remember stuff, I'll post. May 24thI've been home for a little bit now, and it's really nice to see all my old friends. I'm serriously missing out on World of Warcraft, since all I have at home is a dial up connection. Currently I'm on my way driving up to Lansing, MI. I'll be there by Thursday or Friday for Media West. Always fun, of course. May 5thI'm done with school for the semester. It's scary how quickly that went by... Sort of feels like I'm missing a lot. But then I think back and there wasn't much to miss. I have to finish packing up my room today, so my sister can live here. I also need to finish this knitting project for a friend. I'm only about two months overdue on it, so no big deal, right? Weather up here for the last two weeks has been very odd. One day it'll be bright sunny and warm enough that I don't need but a short sleeve. Then the next day it'll be rainy and cold so I need a long sleeve and coat again. Then sunny, then rainy, etc. Today is a sunny day. Which is good, cause that might mean that Saturday will also be sunny. Knowing my luck, probably not. You know, I don't know what's sadder, how much junk I have in my room, or how empty my room looks without it. April 27thWell, I finished my project for New Media Production last night, and it seems I finished it a day early. I don't know why, but I was under the impression it was due today... Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about it. If you want to see it, go here. This morning, I woke up at 5, and I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up about half an hour later and wrote my psychology paper. This one I know isn't due until tomorrow, but since I was up, and I had all my research done, I decided to get it over with. Took me a few hours, but I did finish it. That leaves one final today, which I'm not worried about, and one final on Monday, which I am concerned about. And you know, considering last night I had twice the workload, it's a nice feeling not to have to worry about half as much. Seriously, it feels so nice. Or maybe it's the Prozac, I don't know. Starting last night, and running until May 1st, at the theatre is a show called "Chevalier - Maurice & Me starring Tony Sandler". I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I don't think I like it, but fortunately, there are CD sales that are done by House Staff, and I think I can convince Nicole to let me do the sales all week. That way I don't have to watch it, and only listen to it over the speakers. I don't know what it is, but I don't care much for one man shows as a general rule. Well, only ten days until I go home. April 19thSigh, another month, and it seems as though I've been going non-stop, yet there's nothing to report. School's been taking up a lot of time, and comming to the end of the semester doesn't help. In the next two weeks I have four papers and one comprehensive project due. Let the good times roll! Actually, I'm writing this at about eight in the morning, and I'm going to the library in about an hour to do research for one or two of the papers. Again, how fun... Well, at least once this is all done I can go home for the summer. It'll be really nice to see my mother and sister, and all my friends again. Not that I don't have friends up here, just closer friends back home. And it'll be nice to see them all.

Take the quiz: "What vampire would you be?"
Vampire of the Castle You are a solitary dead soul whom hates unvited quests. Yet it would be rude not to show them a decent time before they perish. Your suave and polite to anyone, however intruders are always dinner.
Why do these things often seem to be a fairly accurate description of me? March 15thAnyone comming to my site for a little while will probably notice a new opening page. I have done it! I learned how to use flash and integrate it with html. So now I can redo my site in flash, it's the "hip" thing to do. The reason I even tried is because I needed to do a complex website for my New Media Production class, so I redid this one. On the subject of new opening page, the background image for it is a new Computer Animation I did. It's in the Computer Animation section (duh) (the fireplace of the main page). Went and got The Incredibles: 2 disk collector's edition today. I don't know what makes it a collector's edition, since I don't think they released anything BUT a collector's edition. Even if they had, I would have gotten this one. It was really cheap for a 2 disk set, too. Only $19.99. Well worth it. I'll be watching it later tonight. March 2ndOk, last post on the guestbook issue, because I give up. I can't get a guestbook up and running by my self because I need admin access to the server, and I think I need to pay for that, which isn't going to happen. I might, once I'm less frustrated by the whole issue, I believe there are some free hosting sites out there, but I need to research more. So goodby Guestbook for now. Yesterday was fun. I went to the public library to do some research for a paper. I typed up all my notes on my laptop, and when I got home I cut and pasted them onto a floppy (note: CUT, not copy). When I put that disk into my desktop to actually write the paper, the file wouldn't open. The disk registered that there was a file there, but it would not open. I freaked, since it was 5 hours worth of notes. Long story short (too late) I was able to open the file in Opera (internet browser), which brought up a dialog to save it, I did so, but the file wouldn't completely save. I opened what did save (there was a 8kb file) in notepad, and there, in the middle of a load of text garbage, was my notes. I have never been so happy to write a paper. Febuary 28th, post 2Found a free guestbook, uploaded it. It would work, but I need authoring privliges, or something along those lines. Oh well, still working on it. Febuary 28th, post 1The last day of Febuary, wow, time flies. You don't even need to have fun, it just goes. I have been trying for the last week for more to get a guestbook for here. Turns out that you need a dedicated server, or something. Basically, I don't think that it will work for this site. Watched the Oscars last night. Go Incredibles! It won both of the awards it was nominated for. Complete list of Oscar winners here. Next week is spring break, good. Sleeping and playing video games 'till my eyes rot out. Febuary 14thHappy National Singles Day! For those of you who are not single, screw you, you lucky bastards! Me, bitter? Nah, but I am a bit cold. I swear, stepping outside to catch the T today, it was actually warmer outside than it was inside. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 50 something, which will be very impressive. Sad that a high of 50 will feel so incredibly warm. Site update today, I'm moving all the old posts to another page to help unclutter the main page. At some point I'll probably make the posts page an entirely seprate page, and put the manga that I want to start making on the homepage. We'll see. January 28thSnow, snow, and more snow. It is bloody cold up here. According to the weather web site, it's 6 degrees, and feels like -11. Plus, there's snow piled up to my knees or higher everywhere, so trying to walk around is a bit hard. Basically, I don't get out much. Don't worry, eventually I'll get hungry and have to go to get food, but I've got a day or two.Just now getting ready to start my 4 hour class, Media Crit and Theory. As usual, we'll be watching something (or multiple somethings) in here, as well as talking about them. It's a long class, but at least it's only once a week. January 19thGot back up here to Boston yesterday, it's very cold. Last night, in the wind, it was -9 degrees. That's cold by almost any standards. Today is my first day of classes, and so far, so good. I'm waiting outside my last class, Psychology (a seminar in cognative psychology). I like my schedule, no classes on Tuesday or Thursday, which is very nice. Hope everyone who has school is getting back into the swing of things, and not hating it too much. January 2ndHappy New Year! Hope everyone got back safely from where ever the were. I was out selling fireworks. Did quite well, too. I still have the fireworks that I bought at the 4th of July this last summer. Since the car died on our (my mother and me) way out to shoot them off, we went straight home (when the car got started again) I'm not having much luck with this batch. Thank goodness they don't go bad. Otherwise, nothing really incredible happening. So Happy New Year to everone! |
