• Timing for this game starts as soon as you gain control of Mario and ends when you hit the axe in 8-4.
• Jumping on the flagpole at the end of a level, when the in game time says 3,6 or 9 will make fireworks appear.
• Its faster to jump at the top of the flagpole.
• Enemies in this game have weird hitboxes; if you time it right you can clip through some pirhanna plants.

To do the trick where you go into one pipe but come out from another pipe or vine you must first

1. jump backwards into an object Mario can get pushed away from the middle of the screen
2. Depending on Mario's position on the screen the game decides which vine or pipe mario is using and depending on if the vine and pipe are close enough on screen, you can trick the game into thinking you are going into one while going into the other.
