Music began when man first banged two rocks together to create fire

Music is life, it is a way of comunication, or for pure entertainment
Here is a break down of music evolution to the best of my knowledge

In moderen civilization music:
Started in Africa brought over as "slave music"
"slave music" divided into Blues and Soul/Gospel
Blues then spawned R&B and Rock'N' Roll, Soul seperated from Gospel but remained largely unchanged

As times change so dose music
During the 70's a music style known as Disco was developed (big mistake)
R&B created the music form kown as Rap, and Hard Rock came from Rock 'N' Roll

Life got more aggresive and faster paced so music evolved to
Hard Rock spintered into Heavy Metal and Rap became a type of Gangster Rap

Heavy Metal created: Thrash metal, Speed metal, and Death metal
Rap became Hip Hop

In the mid-late 90's somthing very interesting happened
Heavy metal and rap blended together to create Rapcore
Also merging with symphonic music to create Heavy chamber music
Of course metal had to evolve into Nu-metal as well

Only time will tell what will happen to music in the future but if the past is an example the future is interesting
