Ref Stallions for Thunder

"Johnston’s Starlight Ranger" is an AMHA National Reserve Grand Champion Senior Stallion, son of the famous Roan Ranger. He has a complete six generation pedigree with many AMHA "greats" of the miniature horse industry, including Gold Melody Boy. He is a full brother to Skip A Star, AMHA National Grand Champion Senior Stallion and half brother to NFC's Sugar Boy, AMHA National Grand Champion Junior Stallion. "Ranger" is a beautiful horse and the sire of our jet black stallion, Red River Tuts Thunder.

Roan Ranger has sired an AMHA National Grand Champion Stallion, Skip A Star; Reserve National Grand Champion Stallion, Johnston's Starlight Ranger, and National Grand Champion Junior Stallion, NFC's Sugar Boy. For AMHR, he produced two-time National Grand Champion Stallion, Gingerbread Farms Rapid Transit.

According to the AMHA Studbook, Gold Melody Boy produced 34 registered offspring, 8 stallions and 26 mares. Of the 8 stallions, only 4 are alive or have produced any foals since 1985. The 4 who remain, trace offspring all over the country and form the foundation of many successful breeding programs. The names are familiar: Roan Ranger, Wittmaacks Mickey Mouse, Johnstons Gold bar, and Johnstons Gold Boy. These stallions have done phenomenally well siring show horses. Gold Melody Boy daughters have also been priceless treasures in breeding programs, contributing greatly to the breed. He has a multitude of Golden Palominos in his pedigree. King Tut had sixty-four foals registered with AMHA, with the last being in 1991. He has passed on pretty heads and very prominent eyes to his get. He is probably best known for being the sire of Komoko's Little Husseler, one of the smallest miniature horses of his time.
