THE NON OFFICIAL SITE OF OPEL OMEGA

這一篇是給Catera Group 的資料...請不要笑我的英文 ^_^

I bought this thermostat with housing for replacement. Rings in the plastic bag are seals for the pipe between thermostat housing and coolant hose( upper coolant hose). It's a MotoRad product. Housing was made in Germany.

The specification is 82C/ 180F.

Thermostats fitted on Opel/Vauxhall X series petro engines are all 92C (fully open at 107C). This is almost a rule just like the three stage fan (100/ 105/ 110C) , Even the new Z petro engines are still under this rule.

The only exception of fan stages I know, is Z32SE engine which was designed to be 94/ 97/ 99C but the thermostat begins to open at 92C like others. And its power is reduced to 155Kw/ 6200rpm, while Y32SE with the identical engine has more power( 160Kw/ 6000rpm).

Fan operation stages changed on Z series engines could be a result of the modification of oil quantity on these engines. Since oil quantity is reduced to 4.75L(less 1 L. than X, Y engins), coolant works in a tougher condition.
