Events (2002 - 2003):
  • August 15th Independence day the day was celebrated with participation for Rangoli and Drawing competitions with skit,songs and Dance. Chief guest Mr.Narendra Neil, Asst Director KGID distributed the Prizes and sweets for children.
  • September 5th Teachers Day was celebrated with the children Performing skits & dances. Gifts were given for the teachers and sweets for children.
  • October 2nd Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated by participating in Peace parade on M.G.Road and performing Kolata in Mahtma Gandhi park. The event was organized by ICYE (international cultural youth exchange)
  • October 18th,19th and 20th Children had great fun at the camp conducted by ALFA.
  • November 1st Karnataka Rajyothsava celebration. Map of Karnataka in the rangoli form showed the talents of children. Children sang, danced and enjoyed the sweets as well.
  • November 14th Chidlrens Day had two gifts for children the lunch was provided by the lioness club of Sanjayanagar and the evening Merriment was at Civet in ITPL. Indu of Civet gave an opportunity for the children not only have snacks and fun time in her beautiful restaurant also children toured around ITPL. Vani Ganapathi the chief guest distributed certificates and medals for the children who participated in Sports.
  • November 18th Deepavali was celebrated at Sikshasagar School in Sanjayanagar. Mrs.Apsara the principal of the school invited nearly 100 children to her school premises and contributed festive food as well. The children also received sweet packets from Mr.M.R.Jayaraman.
  • November 22nd, 23rd and 24th fundraising exhibition petals and Leaves by Sathya Martin at Fluid Space Manipal Center was inaugurated by Mr.H.T.Sangliana Inspector General of Prisons and Director General of Police. The exhibition was a breakeven when it came to funds but was a great advertising for SUKRUPA.
  • November 23rd 100 T-Shirts were contributed by Mr. & Mrs. Rajesh on the occasion of their daughters birthday.
  • November 30th Children were taken to watch Bungee jumping and to visit Bangalore palace. Children had great time dancing and singing through out.
  • December 21st 50 Children were participated on a rally UTSAHA organized by Fame India.
  • December 22nd the children were performed a theme dance on Blood Donation The event was organized by the Lions Club of Sanjayanagar for the release of Blood Donors Directory Mr.K.P.SINGH the Police Commissioner was the chief guest for the function.
  • December 25th Christmas Day children performed Christmas skit in Safina Plaza and to the Rotary Windsor manor.
  • December 31st Christmas Dinner was provided for over 150 families for which part of the funding Rs.3000/- was contributed by our friends at HSBC-EDPI. Slum Clearance Board Chairman Mr.Narayanaswamy was the guest of Honor.
  • January 11th CU-LAH the intercollegiate cultural festival organized by the Mount Carmel College Bangalore. Children of Sukrupa were invited to have lots of fun and merriment in the college campus with their talent performances and enjoying the kiddy rides organized for them. The volunteers of the college showed lots of care and interest in the children.
  • January 30th 2003 was a Memorable day for SUKRUPA. Mr. Paul Henman of HSBC-EDPI announced that they would sponsor basic needs of SUKRUPA for three years.
  • February 5th to 7th was the fundraising sale of pressed flower artifact by Sathya Martin at HSBC cafeteria. The Social action team co-operated in great way in organizing the sale.
  • February 9th a prayer was held at the new center in the presence of Mr.Paul Henman and all the Assistant Vice presidents of HSBC-EDPI, the chief guest was Mr. H.T Sangliana.
  • March was the month of exams for the children.
  • April 11th to 15th children attended the camp at ALFA.
  • April 11th Dell Computer India provided 4 computers for the center.
  • April 21st to 25th was a land mark for SUKRUPA. At the new center approximately 100 children from Bhuvaneshwari slum attended the workshop in which children learnt lots of skills like clay modeling, contemporary classical dance, drawing English lessons, self defense and theater art. Professionals were invited for all the lessons.
  • Month of may was lots of play and learning for the children at the center. Beauticians from Aishwarya Beauty Parlor R.T nagar contributed their skill by giving beautiful hair cuts for 50 children.
  • As Sukrupa has a place now which is not used during the day time it was decided to start a crche for the children below 5 years of age whose parents are at work during the day. Accordingly June 5th Sukrupas play home came into existence. The little ones are learning English rhymes, alphabets, kannada rhymes besides playing, having lunch and sleeping in the beautiful environment of the center.
  • June 9th Rotary Lavell road, through the President Mr.G.M.Raw supplied the notebooks ,colour pencils and water colors and geometry boxes required for the academic year 2003-2004 for the children of SUKRUPA.
  • June 16th Governor Mr.T.N. Chaturvedi inaugurated the center and distributed the uniforms, books and school bags for the children. That day children had the opportunity to visit and tour HSBC-futura, at Bilekahalli-Banneragatta Road. Lunch was organized by HSBC, after lunch the children danced and had a great time.
  • June 21st was the day HSBC sponsored the fundraising concert by Antaragni at J.N.TATA Auditorium.
  • June 28th Children enjoyed playing and making their own Pizza at Pizza corner which the children exclaim as dream land. The even was organized by HSBC and PIZZA CORNER.
