ACTIVITIES:
In order to carry through its Mission, SUKRUPA embarks on people based and community oriented activities aiming at their empowerment and total development and the pronounced programmatic activities are as below:

CHILD CARE SERVICES
  • Day Care Centres (Pre school Program)
  • Assistance for Formal Education
  • Night Tuition Centres (After school program)
  • Provision of lunch, dinner, Uniform, books, and school fees

Our services include

1. Pre school from 9.30 a.m to 3 p.m
a) Rhymes and Alphabets time
b) Snack time
c) Play time with toys and education materials
d) Lunch
e) Sleep
f) Taking care while the children are sick

2. After school supplementary learning from 5p.m to 8p.m
a) Teaching the curriculum and building basic learning
b) Basic mathematics and English lessons
c) Dance lessons
d) Music lessons
e) Arts and craft
f) Theater art lessons
g) Basic Computer Education
h) Board games
i) Feeding program dinner every evening
j) Awareness on health, hygiene and environment

3. Library and reading facility

4. Collection, storing and distribution of used clothes.

Activities being carried out presently aim at the following specific objectives and SUKRUPA feels confident of being on the road to success.

  • to eliminate the drop out rate among school going children

  • to ensure women to adopt small family norm
  • to empower women to secure her rightful place in the family and community
The underprivileged children get education, meals, holistic development and learn life skill programs at SUKRUPA. Sukrupa is a great opportunity to participate in the development of responsible and dignified individuals


FORWARD PLANS:

SUKRUPA on the strength of experience earned and the compelling need that stands established to consider more underprivileged communities; commits to widen its operational base. Satisfaction of basic needs being the priority for the poor and marginalized, the need of the hour is integrated developmental approach.

Programs on the anvil include operationalisation of Day Care Centers to facilitate working slum women, launching Mobile Educational Unit to reach out and take turns in slums, establishing Community Kitchens to provide supplementary nutrition for the mal-nourished children, pregnant and lactating mothers.

Urban backwardness, being extension of rural poverty, SUKRUPA commits to reach out to the rural pockets surrounding the city through mass based programs. A comprehensive plan for community health compatible for villages and urban slums with special emphasis on HIV / AIDS Prevention is also being planned.

Immediate requirement foreseen include a viable infrastructure to operationalise various activities of the organisation, transportation for childrens mobility, volunteers to assist in vocational training processes and above all, encouragement and cooperation to enable SUKRUPA fulfill its commitment to the cause of the people in need.
