The family Mattsson-StålnackeThis family surname goes back
about three hundred years. The surname is mentioned in a document for the
first time at Kålsäter´s factory, Långserud´s parish in the province of
Värmland in central Sweden in 1697-1698. The
ancestors were the brothers "Anders and Jonas Mattsson
Ståhlnacke". They lived at the end of the 17th century and in the
begin of the 18th century. They were hammersmiths. They were possibly not
brother`s child of Jöns Olofsson-Stålnacka or Erik Olofsson
Ståhlnacke. Instead, they were possibly sons of Mattis Larsson" who
lived in the 17th century. The father was hammersmith at Ransäter´s
factory, Upper Ullerud´s parish in the province of Värmland. He and his
sons were mentioned in a census register in 1690: "Master hammersmith
Mattis (married), charcoal-burner Pelle (single), journeyman hammersmith
Anders (single), smith-worker Jonas (single)". |
