Guide  to Australian Electrical Compliance Regulations
(More comprehensive but somewhat out of date)

Shorter version, more up to date
(but covers Safety Only)

These documents are Computer-Generated .TXT files produced by my  SydChrome standards lookup App.
They will point you in the right direction in the majority of cases. Every so often they will get updated. These are mainly electrical standards,  but a few hardware items have been  added too.
I have given some of you copies of the SydChrome executable and data files, but sImply providing an online compendium of "Reconstituted" files means that they are accessible by all computer platforms: PC, Mac, Phones & Tablets, and always up to date. The "Skinny" format is more suitable for phones and tablets.

Notes:

1. These have been extensively updated to reflect new standards editions and for other reasons.

 2. If you want to save a copy of one of the files, right-click it and select "Save Link As..." or you can download them all at once as the Zipped File called:
0-Standards All 15 Sept 2023.zip
(Hint: If you unzip them into a folder on your Desktop , the normal "Search the Web and Windows" thingie next to the start button will look them up for you).

 3. The information shown here is offered at no charge on an "As Is" basis. No responsibity will be accepted for errors. For critical applications please re-check your facts on the appropriate websites.

 4. This site mainly refers to AS/NZS-prefixed standards. European equivalents are usually very similar and contain  the same number, but starting with  "EN" or "IEC". "AS/NZS CISPR" is similar to just  "CISPR" in Europe. A test report to a European standard may not be acceptable in Australia, although most are. The exception is electrical safety reports, where you may need to get a "Top Up" report from a local lab to cover the "Australian Deviations".
5. Due to some political issues between Standards Australia and their NZ counterparts, some formerly "AS/NZS" standards are now  just "AS". Eg, AS/NZS CISPR 11 is now just AS CISPR 11!
