"Collectors Club of Washington was formed by members of WPS in 1927 under the name, Branch No. 5 of the Society of Philatelic Americans, to host the Society convention. In August 1928, Branch No. 5 decided to remain separate as 'CCW'"; though it cites 1927.

The Washington Stamp Collectors Club (WSCC) was formed on January 1, 2006, through a merger of the Collectors Club of Washington (CCW; founded 1927) and the Washington Philatelic Society (WPS; founded 1905). This re-unites the clubs seperated for 79 years.
