Issued by The Olathe Poste (a
United States company with local post issuing authority) on
Feb. 28, 2006, this sheet of 16 $5 stamps features North
America's coyote (canis latrans) at a full gallop. The stamp
image is from a photograph by
W. C. "Bill" Porter; Porter is
also the designer of the stamp. The decorative sheet selvage
includes information on this interesting predator. No stamp
featuring the coyote has ever been issued by the U.S. Postal
Service (or, to our knowledge, any other country). We have a
very limited supply of this sheet.
This sheet was
printed in full CMYK color offset inks and pinhole perforated
(US standard gauge 12-67).
The actual size of this
sheet is 216mm x 280mm (8.5" X 11"). Note that this sheet did
not completely fit within the view area of our scanner;
portions of the sheet selvage have been cropped in the above
image. The above image is from scan taken at 54% of actual
size.
