In the FFP-FAHP Provincial Eliminations held at Concepcion Polytechnic College, Concepcion, Iloilo, Jinky Silorio, the nightingale of the school, grabbed the first place in FAHP vocal solo contest while Oliver Pallada ranked second in troubleshooting contest.

In the regional level of the conference, Jinky Silorio duplicated her feat in the provincial level of the vocal solo contest. She sang her way into the judges heart to win the gold medal.

Future Homemakers Rieza Velarde and Mary Can Sta Rufina were elevated to the Maria Y. Orosa degree. On the other hand, Nestor Diaz of the FFP Trade placed first in Electrical Plan contest.

As we still quenced our thirst for knowledge, some members of Class '97 were chosen to attend conferences in and out of the region. Beulah Grace Portillo and Noel Tolentino, Jr., represented our Alma Mater in the National Youth Congress held at Teacher's Camp, Baguio City. Due to his interest in Science, Melecio Angelo, Jr., was selected to attend the Science and Technology Environment Activities and Workshop held in Bacolod City.

Our active scouter, Melina Modelo, attende the Girl Scout Encampment last February, 1997 at Camp Pasica, Dingle Iloilo. She was chosen as anoutstanding camper. During the Linggo ng Kabataan, she was elected as the little vice mayor of our municipality.

Our class excelled not only in skills contests but also in academic competitions. During the Regional Statistical Quiz held at NEDA Office in Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City, Allan Madarico and Beulah Grace Portillo proved their mental superiority when they copped the second place.

We gain more honors before the school year ends. During the English Affair '97, our class proved their superiority in the different contests. Rieza Velarde, being a tough opponent of the spelling demons, topped the spelling contest. The tandem of Leah Tormon and Niel Puga captured the second place in the vocabulary contest. Dennis Joseph Pueyo became the champion in the scrabble contest. Michelle Sotelo lorded over the other contestants in the boogle contest. Noel Tolentino Jr. and Melina Modelo garnered the second and third places , respectively, in essay writing contest.

The last laurel that we brought to our school was during the Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection on the CAT-I at CNCHS, Batch '97. The unit was adjudged as an "Excellent Unit" in the third congressional district of Iloilo.

Definitely our achievements for the past four years will be our inspiration and motivation in continuing to strive for excellence for the greater honor and fame of our beloved Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School.
