We lost our Glad game against Dissent
yesterday in two games. At the start of the game there was no other Glad staff
online but me so I had to ref the match, in the end this might of cost us. The
bot wasn't set to game mode. This means that when I started it there was no one
minute countdown and the game started immediately. I wasn't expecting this and
had gone afk thinking I had a minute to spare. In the confusion of the start
Dissent got a quick kill with Ohm's Law taking out ebola virus. I let the game
go on and not restart. I did this for two reasons. First of all I was in the
situation of reffing my own squad and didn't want to look as though I was
favouring them. Secondly by the time the game started Portal Realm (The
Gladiator League sys op) had come online and he was happy for the game to go
ahead. The person who disagreed most with this decision was ebola virus who was
the first person to die out leaving Snail and Demongo 2v3. Dissent are too smart
a squad to lose from the position and went on to take the game 6-1.
Game 2 started a lot more smoother. Our
starting line was Snail, HarryHood and Kuskus. We got the opening kill and were
at 2-2 when we again went down a man early in the game, this time it was Harry
that got put out. Again Dissent showed their experience by grinding us down as
soon as they went 3v2 up. Also Snail lagged out leaving Kuskus on his own with
one life left. By the time Demongo was subbed in Kus had been knocked out at
there was nothing he could do. In the end we lost 6-2. You can find all the
match stats by clicking here and
you can read the game log here.
Considering the inactivity there's been in
the squad since the last Glad game it's not that surprising that we looked and
played rusty, specially as we were going against a squad who are deep in the AML
and IML playoffs and undefeated in Gladiator. There was some good signs though,
specially the start of game 2. We don't have a game next weekend. Our next game
is Round 9 vs ROCK MUSIC.
