| Padmanabha swamyTemple is one of the most important and holiest pilgrim centres of kerala, attracting thousands of pilgrims from all parts of the Country. The main attraction is that the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu as 'Pabmanabha Swamy' (Anthashayanam) .
The temple is built in the typical Kerala temple style. There are four entrances for the temple. The Kizhekke Nada ( Eastern entrance ), Padinjare Nada (Western entrance),Thekke Nada,(southern enterance) Vadakke Nada (Northern entrance). There are also small temples for sub deities viz Lord Sree Krishna(Tiruvambadi) Lord nrasimha, Lord Ayyappa,Lord Ganesha and Lord Anjaneya. The 33 meter high golden 'kodimaram' is also located in the chuttambalam. The walls of the 'sreekovil' (sanctum santorium) is decorated with mural paintings.The idol Pabmanabha Swamy is
made of 12000 saligrams( a special kind of sone).
