Of late I have seen that many fresh engineers in India want to enter the VLSI field and are actively looking for GOOD training institutes within India. There has been very many threads on the ICTIPS mailing list on this topic. Herewith I am summarizing the responses received. There is NO implicit or explicit favourism in the following list, just what I have come across and thought might be useful to Indian Engineers.


CDAC Advanced Computing Training School offers a diploma in VLSI and it has branches all over India, so visit their Home Page and send them a mail to find out the closest location to you.

2.> TTM at Hyderabad offers IC Design courses specialized in BACKEND - which as far as I know is unique in this country. I was speaking to one of my colleagues who had taken this course and she was very impressed by the course, they use Avant! tools to teach the entire backend design flow. The course fee is HUGE around 1.75 lack rupees, but there are companies sponsoring students for this course as I understood - Nice no :-)
