Acme Australian Shepherds and Dog Training

IT 270 Project

Documentation of the Development Process and Defense of the Final Product

The site is for a fictitious business owned by my uncle. He raises and sells Australian Shepherd puppies, offers dog training clasess, and has an onsite store. Because it is a small-community-based business, I wanted to give it a bit of a homey feel to it rather than a slick, edgy feel. I chose not to make my website height uniform because when I am viewing a website I don't like a site that scrolls within its frame. It limits the viewing area and I find it irritating. I tend to stay away from sites like that. My color choices were based on research I did about which colors appeal to which people and why. I chose blue because it is a color that engenders trust which is important in business. I also wanted a color scheme that was easy to view. I used a font family that is available on most browsers so the website would have the same look and feel across browsers. I didn't change much from my original vision of the site but the layout of the pictures is somewhat different than originally planned. I did some experimenting and this layout appealed to me.

Opportunities for Improvment and Growth

At some future date, since I raise and show Australian Shepherds, this site may be morphed into a site for my own dogs. I don't provide training or own a store but those pages can be easily converted. I like the structure and framework, colors and fonts so won't change much when the time comes. My skills will probably have advanced so I may find more efficient ways to format my site. I would like to become much more proficient at formatting forms.
