WHAT IS SPRINGBOARD?

AIM OF THE GROUP
To work with children and young people to develop their confidence and skills. When they are ready we help them to move into a mainstream club, group, sports or leisure activity.

WHERE?
The Children's Centre. Cherry Tree Avenue. Scarborough (Next door to May Lodge)        Click here for a map

WHEN?
Wednesdays after school in termtime. The group runs for 5 weeks at a time then takes a break for planning and to review the progress of each young person.

JUNIOR SPRINGBOARD 7 TO 11 YEARS from 3.30pm to 5.30pm (Staff collect children from school, parents collect them and take them home)

SENIOR SPRINGBOARD 12 TO 16 YEARS from 6.30 to 8.30pm (Parents provide transport to and from the group)

HOW LONG DO YOUNG PEOPLE STAY IN THE GROUP?
Everyone is different. Some young people are ready to move on after 6 weeks, others stay for several months.

WHICH YOUNG PEOPLE CAN ATTEND?
Any young person who is disabled and needs support to use a mainstream club or group. We only have six young people in the group at once, so we have a waiting list.
