An addendum to The Letters of Appreciation

Attitude and Appreciation are no mystery to us

We all know about how we use or demonstrate them.

We have always known that appreciation of other was important to all our lives.

We strive to gain the appreciation of others in our work play and any activities we participate in.

So pleasing others is something we are always involved in.

And it’s just as important to everyone that those we try to please let us know that they do appreciate us.

So how is it we seem to fall short of achieving the appreciation and approval we seek from each other?

It seems like a mystery that we continue to have all sorts of problems in spite of knowing about the basic things we need to do that makes everyone pleased with everyone.

While there is much truth to be said for the statement

Be good to yourself and the world will be good to you.

To have no regrets of our past and no anxieties about tomorrow.

It seems to fall short of solving the larger societal problems.

The problem has always been the social structure we establish interfering with our basic knowing.

Some societies that have been created cater to our appreciation and those that do have a healthy happy emotionally uplifting feeling.

But The way most established societies of today have been constructed isn’t conducive to our appreciation of everyone.

They comply with that selection of individuals at the top of the social order at the exclusion of those at the bottom.

In other words there is a segregation of the population, which is good in some respects.

But we've never created a society that really integrated that into our lives so it’s interactions among the individuals were without conflict and confusion.

The problem has been we have never created the conditions that would allow an appreciation of everyone like the letters of appreciation espouses.

Of course there is a whole range of things other than this but this is one of its bases.

One of the purposes of these letters of appreciation is an attempt to increase the awareness of our interaction so we can get a glimpse of how there may be a way to create conditions that would allow us to move beyond being our own worst enemy.

I release these letters to you; do with them what you will

With the release of these letters I release the past also

In the future I will not be recalling the past as I have done with these appreciation letters.

So this has been a clearing for me to receive the present may it be one for you too.

We cannot appreciate anything that doesn’t allow us to create the conditions that allow us to be creative, - to explore all our potentials

Meaning if we create conditions that deprives us of manifesting our highest potentials as a contributory base for the rest of society that influences our physiological and psychological attitude toward one another and life then we have no base to really appreciate others.

One of the most critical elements that these letters try to convey is releasing the past so we can empower the present with appreciation and we can only do that by changing our reality, - both the way we use the environment and the type of sociological conditions that we create.
