Hard Disk Utilities

The is a freeware hardisk utility program which i find useful. It is called HD Tune

It provides the following functions

• Benchmark: measures the performance
• Info: shows detailed information
• Health: checks the health status by using SMART
• Error Scan: scans the surface for errors
• Temperature display

I like the temperature display :-)

Anyway, use the error scan feature to check if your hardisk has any bad sector. If yes, then you should start backing up your partition immediately.
