Backup Utilities

I find this Freeware backup utilities powerful and useful to use.
It is called SyncBack Freeware
There is a commercial copy that is more powerful with a USD$25 investment. See if you need that features (e.g compression, saving running program files, encryption etc). For me the freeware serves pretty well for home users :-)

It provides the following functions

• Backup & Restore
• Synchronize
• Schedule Backup

It's important that you periodically backup important data into the following media

• DVD-R (4.7GB) or CD-R (700MB)
• DVD-RW (4.5GB) or CDRW (550MB)
• External HardDrive (depends on hardisk size)
• Thumbdrive (depends on the size but < 2/4GB)

If your data is always changing i.e file which you update regularly, do use the last three media instead as you cannot overwrite the files in DVD-R/CD-R media.
