This website
contains several folders of my research notes into the roots, origins,
diffusion and poeteering behaviours of the verse form AABBBA in the
period 100-1350.
My particular
interest is to establish whether the sonnet can be said to have a relationship
with the Arabic-Hebrew zajal verse forms of al-Andalus.
The reader
should be warned that this is a work in progress. It is suggestive rather than
authoritative.
