Arachnophilia 4.0

An excellent HTML editor , completely FREE.
Much easier to use than other editors to be found on the web. It is not a WYSIWYG editor, but the preview mode is very practical.
There's a 5.0 version, written in Java and dedicated to Java. It's a rather slow and unpractical toy (no real preview mode ...). I strongly suggest you download the EXCELLENT 4.0 version.

MikTeX

A very complete LaTeX suite for Windows systems (you only need an editor, see below for TeXShell).
LaTeX is one of the best text presentation tool. It's not a WYSIWYG product (you write kind of scripts, like in HTML), but it does make marvellous documents.

A Complete Operating System (with a good web browser, etc.) which fits on a floppy disk.
It's very quick, and does not use your hard disk (everything runs on RAM).
