I`m ba-ack!!!!! My entries have been few and far between, but heck, life has been gooooooooood.
So... after several shopping sprees (3 hours at Superstore, over 300 bucks in total, eh Blen? =D), I think I`m finally settled into my new home -- or at least getting there. It`s definitely been "different" cooking for myself (boil water, throw food in, add salt, EAT). The three essentials of life: canned, frozen, take-out. ;) I woke up late one day and wasn`t able to fix breakfast or a good lunch in time, so I grabbed some tupperware and just threw in the following: 2 slices of sourdough bread, 2 slices of smoked turkey, one apple. Then I realized "oops, forgot the milk group, ahhhhhhh!", so in went a slice of cheese. Mind you, I didn`t actually make a sandwich; everything was still in its wrapping, squished into every inch of that lil` container. Closed the lid. Grabbed a fruit juice box and a bottle of water, and ran for the door. Nonetheless, it was FOOD, and it was supposed to last me the entire day. =D When I got to work, I took out the apple and cheese, and stuck the rest (unwrapped) in the microwave. Yeah, a 1-minute hot meal! The miracles of technology...
Actually, I`ve developed a bad habit of buying more produce and bread than I can eat. Simon came home with me after a mad hike around Coquitlam Centre and all-you-can-eat sushi lunch (at whichwe only got 6 california rolls out of the 30 we ordered =P) on Monday, and in the middle of watching Lord of the Rings (numero uno), he decides he`s gonna cook dinner for me. He goes through all my celery, mushrooms, onions, garlic, etc. and proceeds to throw out half the stuff because I`d had them for over half a month and... well... black fungal spots and sprouting garlic ain`t exactly edible, eh?
I`ve definitely developed a greater appreciation for my momma. How the heck does she manage to feed 4 people every single day, morning, noon and night?? And how does she know exactly how much to buy when she goes shopping (never too much, never too little, never too costly)??
On another note, I watched Lord of the Rings 2 on Tuesday with Al and his friends. I`m sooooo hooked. Aurrggghhh... I swore I`d never get into the trilogy cuz reading the Hobbit in grade 8 English was absolutely enough, but... Dang, the movies are soooooooooo good... Just can`t get enough... But I will not read the book until I`ve seen the last one. I should watch the movie before reading cuz the book is always better, non? And it`d just destroy my enjoyment of the movie. But.... grrr... when`s the last one coming out? Huh huh huh??? And heck, when`s the 5th Harry Potter book gonna come out????????
Gotta get to work.... it`s almost 10AM, I`m so lazy. =D Normally, this just means I`d be stuck in the lab until 5 or 6 in the evening, and hafta ride the bus and walk home in the dark... But today, it`s more boxing week shopping with Al at Metropolis after only an hour of work, yeaaaah! And then I`m going with Simon to potluck dinner at his church, then maybe we`llget together with Pegs... Oooh, the freeeedom (if y` know me, y` know what I mean ;D).

After potluck dinner at Simon`s church last night, I never felt so... old. I`ve been the youngest (or one of the youngest) at so many functions lately, like the MBB department Christams party 2 weeks ago. I`m even the youngest in the lab I work in. Often, it hits me how immature, naive, and young I feel next to the people I spend so much time with. However, last night, I felt ancient, and for awhile, I was the oldest there -- until Kevin showed up... =(
Anyhow, Kevin, Simon, and I spent half the evening trying to decide what to do the rest of the night. We waited for Peggy to get home from her family dinner... and waited... and waited... and dang, we didn`t know what to with our time. Have you ever been in an unlit graveyard at night? Ha, we ended up wandering around one in PoCo. It was all actually quite peaceful, as opposed to creepy. :) Kevin even showed us where Terry Fox is buried.
We made a potty stop at Kev`s house, played around on his awesome grand piano... and still couldn`t decide what to do with ourselves! Finally, as we thought we`d just pop into SilverCity and catch whatever was playing late, Peggy called. Coincidence?? Hmmm... Well, X-cite turned out to be closed until Jan. 6, so we ultimately parked our asses at Malone`s. Then what did we do the rest of the night? Tried to decide what to do for New Year`s Eve. =D Oh yeah, it was actually way more fun that it sounds.
So after a l-o-n-g day, which included Metropolis shopping with Al (and a lil` stop into a couple of lingerie shops... hehheh) and an hour of fly work (had to make sure they didn`t all die over Christmas!) earlier, I crashed when I got home... and had to wake up early this morning to do laundry before anyone else got to the machines. =(
And know what? I`m now very, very, very, sick. =( The flu`s setting in, I think... And tomorrow night, it`s dinner with a bunch of ol` high school pals at some restaurant I can`t even pronounce... Another late night? Who knows...
