How To Make a Monster Icicle
Step-1  Getting the materials,  You will need a hard plastic bucket.  Preferably a 5 gallon bucket but smaller ones would work if it isnt realy cold.  You will need Silicon tubing. In this case size dosent matter someting around 1/4 outside diameter will be fine.  You will also need a peice of dowling oneor two sizes larger the the inside diameter of you tubing.  You also need something for the Icicle to grow on. Like a peice of wood, what did was cut a 4 in round peice of 3/4 thick board.  I used cedar but you could use any old peice of crap you got lying around.
Step-2  Take the bucket and drill a fairly small hole in it neer the bottom 2 or 3 inches from the bottom is fine, The whole should be big enough so the tubing fits in it, but small enough so no water leaks out.
Step-3  Take the dowling you purchased and  cut a peice about 2-3 inches long peice off of one end.  Take the peice and make it taperd so the sticks fit in the tubing about about 1/2 to 3/4 inches.  You also need to make a grove in the dowling to adjust water flow out of the tubing.  It should be a very small grove.  It is ok if you screw up because you probably puchase 3 feet of dowling. The further you press the dowling in the less water will come out is how it should work.
Step-4  Suspend your bucket and peice of wood so the the tubing drips neer the center of the peice of wood.  I suspended my wood with some wire only because it is the only thing I could this of.
Step-5  When it get cold. below 32 degrees fill your bucket up and let it drip, now the slower the drip of the end of the icicle the faster it will grow so if it drips once a second it isnt prolly growing to fast but if it drips once ever 30 seconds it prolly is.  Have fun,  If you have problems with the water in the tubing freezing add some warm water to the bucket.  These icicles get BIG so be carefull.  I have got one to 5 feet long in 2 days so dont stand neer them.  If you have a question dont hesitate to email me.
Ill get some pics of mine on the page soon
