At seven the next morning, Eddie and Kelly crashed into Char and Ziz�s room.
�Hey Char! Wake up! We gotta go boarding!� Eddie said frantically, shaking Char.
Char opened her eyes a fraction. �*What*?�
Kelly shook Ziz. �C�mon, you guys!�
�*Why*?� Ziz asked with her eyes still closed.
�We gotta go boarding!� Kelly said.
�Not at seven in the morning,� Char replied, pulling the covers over her head.
Eddie pulled the covers off her. �No! Come on, Char! Let�s go!�
Char pulled covers back over her body. �Cut it out, Eddie.�
Kelly shook Ziz. �C�mon, Ziz. We gotta start now!�
�*Why*?� Ziz repeated.
�We just do! Come on!� Kelly hoisted Ziz over his shoulder. �Eddie-get Char and let�s go.�
Eddie nodded and pulled Char out of bed, carrying her light frame over his shoulder.
�What are you doing?� Char tried to wriggle away from Eddie, but he only held on to her tighter.
�We�re going to board!� Kelly said.
�Not in our pajamas we�re not!� Ziz grabbed the doorframe as Kelly carried her out.
�Of course you are!� Eddie exclaimed.
Char followed Ziz�s example and grabbed the doorframe.
Seth came out of his room in his t-shirt and boxers, yawning. �Dude, what are you guys doing?�
�We�re going boarding,� Kelly replied matter-of-factly.
�Well keep it down-I�m trying to sleep,� Seth said and walked back into his room, waving a hand and grinning at Char and Ziz.
�Wait! Seth, no! Don�t go!� Ziz yelled.
With a burst of strength, Kelly and Eddie detached Char and Ziz from the doorframe and headed down the stairs.
�Kelly, if you bring us out there, I�m gonna kill you,� Ziz threatened.
Kelly and Eddie ignored their threats and pleas and entered the lounge.
�Hey Char.� Ethan waved.
�Oh no. Eddie, bring me back,� Char muttered.
�Why?� Eddie asked.
�It�s Ethan,� Char said.
Eddie glanced at Ethan making his way toward them. �Oh okay. Kelly-let�s go back up-we can put off boarding for awhile.�
�Why?� Kelly asked.
Eddie nodded his head in Ethan�s direction.
�Oh.� Kelly turned and led the way out of the lounge. Once back in Char and Ziz�s room, Kelly and Eddie let Char and Ziz go and Kelly shut the door.
�Does Ethan really bother you that much?� Eddie asked.
Char nodded. �Yeah. He just grosses me out. He scares me.�
�Yeah, he scares me too. Ever since that one day he came up and put his arms around us, he just creeps me out,� Ziz agreed.
�We�ll watch out for him,� Kelly said.
�Okay, thanks,� Char said.
�I guess we better scram and let you sleep now,� Eddie said.
�Yeah right. I�m really gonna sleep now,� Ziz replied.
�Okay, then, we�ll leave you to let you do your girl stuff,� Eddie said.
Char gave Eddie and Kelly a light push out the door. �Shut up and get outta here.�
Half an hour later, Jenna, Robyn, Char, Ziz and Mo came down the stairs in one big group.
�I think we might be snowed in,� Jenna said.
�Hey guys. We�re snowed in.� Gavin opened a granola bar.
�See? I told you,� Jenna said.
�So that�s why you aren�t all geared up?� Seth asked.
�Yup,� Robyn said. �We�re geared down.�
�See you guys in the lounge,� Eddie said, spooning Cheerios into his mouth.
Jenna got in line for her food behind Sadie.
�Jenna, once again, I have to compliment you on your brave fashion effort,� Sadie said, looking down her nose at Jenna.
Jenna looked down at her Adidas windbreaker pants and Adidas sweatshirt. �What is your problem, Sadie?�
�I�m just complimenting you, Jenna. I didn�t mean for you to take it the wrong way.� Sadie walked away with a smug smile. Jenna angrily plunked a bunch of grapes into her bowl.
�Don�t let her get to you, Jen,� Char said quietly.
�I�m trying really hard, but it�s not working.� Jenna poured herself some orange juice.
�Oh no! Here comes Brent!� Robyn exclaimed. �I forgot he was even on this trip!�
�We�ll help you out, Rob.� Mo poured herself some Lucky Charms.
�Hey Ziz,� Brent said.
�Hey, Brent,� Ziz replied. �How�s it going?�
�Pretty good. Too bad we�re snowed in,� Brent commented.
Ziz nodded her head. �Yeah.�
�I wonder if the power will go out,� Brent wondered.
Ziz nodded her head. �Yeah, I don�t know.�
�I hope not,� Mo cut in.
�That�d be bad,� Robyn said quietly.
�Yeah. It would be,� Brent agreed.
There was an awkward silence as all four stood nervously.
�Uh, well, we better go meet the guys in the lounge,� Ziz said and turned and walked away. Mo and Robyn followed her.
�That didn�t go too bad, did it?� Mo asked.
�No, not really,� Robyn replied as she sat next to Seth on the couch. |
