Jenna Hartwell stumbled sleepily onto the bus, her layered blond hair in tangles. Robyn Osgood, looking awak and happy, stood up and yelled, "Hey Jenna! We have a seat for ya!" Seth Baum yawned and ran a hand through his spiky red hair. "Man, I'm tired." Aziza Caftor blinked her bloodshot hazel eyes. "So am I. I don't know about you guys but-" "Four in the morining is *way* too early for me," Charlotte Sumner finished Aziza's sentence as she wedged her pillow into a more comfortable position. She stretched her legs out over her seat and put the blanket over her feet. As Jenna collapsed into her seat, Moanna Ngozi climbed onto the bus. "Mo! Sit by me!" Seth said. Moanna fell into the seat next to Seth. "Hey." Eddie Taylor sat next to Aziza. "Hey, Ziz." Aziza groaned. "Eddie, can't you sit anywhere else? I was hoping to get some sleep before I woke up." "Sorry, Ziz. All the seats are taken. You can use my shoulder as a pillow," Eddie said with a smile. "Better have a soft shoulder," Ziz muttered. "Where's Gavin and Kelly?" Robyn asked, peering out of the windows of the bus. "I don't know but they better get here soon." Moanna pulled a blanket out of her bag as a loud bang sounded outside. "Here they come," Seth said. Kelly Hutchins burst onto the bus with Gavin Sans right behind him. Kelly headed for Char's seat. She pulled her legs off the seat and let Kelly sit next to her. "Hey Char," Kelly said, yawning. "Are you as awake as I am?" Charlotte shut her eyes again. "Yup." "I can't believe you guys are tired," Robyn said. "We're *normal* people, Robyn," Jenna murmured as she moved over so Gavin could sit next to her. "Whatever. Who's up for a game of MASH?" Robyn asked cheerfully. "*No* one," GAvin replied, rubbing his eyes. "Fine," Robyn said. "I'll listen to music, then." "You do that," Ziz said. They were all asleep in minutes.
A few hours later, the bright morning light came streaming into the bus.Jenna opened her sky blue eyes and looked around. Her best friend, Robyn, always awake and cheerful, was fixing her hair. "Morning, Robyn," Jenna said, sitting up. Robyn looked up from putting her dark blond hair into a bun. "Morning, Jenna. Sleep well?" "As well as you possibly can on a bus," Jenna replied. They were on a high schoool Ski Club trip to the mountains. Jenna, Robyn, Seth, Aziza, Charlotte, Moanna, Eddie, Kelly and Gavin were in one big group. They wer all close friends and had been friends since their freshman year-some even longer. Jenna had layered blond hair and bright sky blue eyes. She was quiet around people she didn't know well, but was loud and outgoing around her friends. Robyn had dark blond hair and hazel eyes. She was always optimistic and friendly. One thing she hadn't been optimistic on was her past relationship with her exboyfriend, Brent Logan. They both knew the relationship was pointless, but they kept all their anger inside until it exploded. All in all they had a really bad break up and weren't speaking to each other. Seth had spikey dark red hair and dark blue eyes. He was fun to be around and he was always cheering people up by cracking jokes. He could turn any situation into a funny one. Aziza, or Ziz as all her friends called her, was a generally happy person, but was very pessimistic. Her best friend, Charlotte, was very optimistic and always tried to get Ziz to look on the bright side. Ziz had brown hair with blond highlights. Charlotte had wavy layered dark brown har and dark brown eyes. She had constant fights with her family and was always over at Ziz's, Eddie's or Kelly's houses. Char was short. She barely reached to shoulders of the guys in the group and everyone teased her about it. Moanna had black hair and slanted chocolate brown eyes. She was half Asian and half African American. She dressed in her own unique style, matching patterns that wouldn't look good on anyone but her. Eddie had blond hair, but had recently shaved his head, leaving him with a blond "stubble" Ziz and Char liked to call it. He had liquidy warm brown eyes and was nice to everyone. He was a friendly guy with a long neck everyone teased him about. Kelly had blond spiky hair and sky blue eyes. He, like Seth, could make everyone laugh and turn dark situations into funny ones. He had a junky car that he gave everyone rides in, even though it sounded like it would fall apart at any second. Gavin had silvery gray blue eyes and light brown hair with blond streaks. He was a loud, but very sweet guy. He cared about everyone's feelings and told people to cut the teasing when it got too crude. Charloote slowly picked her head up off Kelly's shoulder and yawned, running a hand through her hair. Kelly, who had just woken up too, grinned. "Love your hair, Char." Char smacked Kelly in the arm. "Shut up." Jenna was trying to pull her hair brush out of her bag. It was stuck but with a hard jerk, she pulled it ou and elbowed Gavin in the chest. Gavin sprung awake. "What?" Jenna smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, Gav." "What are you trying to do-kill me?" Gavin asked. "No, I was just-" "It's okay, Jen. Don't worry about it," Gavin said, stretching. Ziz sleepily opened her eyes and sat up. "Hey, Ziz! It's about time you woke up!" Kelly joked. Ziz turned to look at Kelly. "Shut up." Char laughed. "Those were the first words out of my mouth this morning too." Moanna woke up and was brushing her hair in no time. "What time is it?" Eddie asked, trying to come up from foginess. "It's like, eight thirty or something," Char answered. "When are we-" Gavin was cut off by Seth. "Are we there yet?" Seth asked loudly. "Does it look like it?" Moanna replied and Seth shook his head. "Then there's your answer." Half and hour later, the bus stopped for breakfast at McDonald's. Getting off the bus, Charlotte's knee gave out on her and she stumbled. Gavin caught her and helped her to her feet. |
