We had decided to get home in as few stops as possible...
We headed out at about 8:00am and went east on I-12 toward I-59. A
couple exits before we got to I-59, we came to a stop. Nothing moved
for about 20 minutes. We heard on the CB that there was a wreck right
at the exit. They brought in the helicopter and ambulances to take
away the victims. They finally opened up one lane and we passed the
wrecks. There was a van that was pretty well smashed up and covered
with a blue tarp. There was also a pickup that was laying on
it's side and also banged up pretty well. After passing the wrecks,
all the cars were traveling slower than before.....
After driving 450 miles, we changed our minds. We are not in that much of a hurry.... Noccalula Falls CG is a very nice campground and for $21 a night, it can't be beat. It is a city campground and has full hookups as well as cable. The only drawback is that the sites are fairly close together. It would be pretty crowded during the summer or weekends. We will definitely be coming back here.
