Forehands (or flicks).

Ian from Clockwork is an all-around good player and hopefully everyone got to observe him play. Even though he's a big goof, we could all learn a few things from him!

Here he is about to throw a forehand as Danny is charging him from a defensive cut. Notice how relaxed he looks - he knows his throw is probably going to connect, and it's going to take a second or so before Danny can set up a good block. His throwing wrist is cocked all the way back and the throw made a nice arc across to the opposite side near the endzone- towards where his right foot is pointing. To get some tips on how to throw a flick, check out this informative
link, but one thing that's worth mentioning is that throwing a good forehand is a zen-like experience - the harder you try, the harder it seems. Relaxation is the key. Just use the force, Luke.

Defense

This is a defensive error by Alex (hey, I'm getting over the flu!). Ian is forced to throw along the sideline, but Alex's arm is way above his head! This is because Ian was doing some upward fakes resulting in an over-reaction by the defender. Almost all throws originate at the stomach level, and that's where the defender's arms should be. The disc was easily passed upfield in this instance.

Play on!
