Why SnickleSnackle? The Story of SnickleSnackle. |

SnickleSnackle began as a tiny bud of an idea, an outgrowth of a great zit talk that's blossomed into a new way of thinking, living, and feeling. It all started out on a crisp fall evening, September 16, 2005, to be exact.
My best friend C and I were settled heavily into a hot Girl's Night. Hot because the ideas were pouring from us as liberally as we were pouring water into our cottony mouths. Our minds had finally freed themselves enough to delve below the surface, to scamper over to the edges, where the real stuff is. Beautifully, our records from that night show no specifics on what zit story we were enthralled with, or who came up with the word SnickleSnackle. Its ownership is truly shared between us, and you, and anyone who has the courage to SnickleSnackle. SnickleSnackle was originally a euphemism for the word 'zit.' We laughed at the idea and then moved on to other topics, like memories of becoming blood sisters in grade school ('that was before you slept with 25 people and I became a raging hypochondriac,' I said to C), the idea of a lava lamp to go, asking for a pocketknife for Christmas, and the miracle of Visine.
Then suddenly, SnickleSnackle reappeared.
"We should do something with SnickleSnackle," one of us said.
"We could make t-shirts," one of us said.
"This could be our women's group," one of us said.
As the word rolled around in our sticky mouths, we realized SnickleSnackle could stand for everything. It was a word completely devoid of meaningwhich meant it could mean anything, and everything. Why limit it, we thought. Let it be whatever people want it to be. Let it be used liberally and without rules.
"I had the best SnickleSnackle last night."
"SnickleSnackle! How are you?"
"I am SO SnickleSnackled."
We knew this word had the power to reach - and change - the masses, while also enriching our souls. We envisioned, and envision, a lively community of friends both online and in our homes, who have the courage to let it all hang out for one another. To do just about anything to make each other laugh, to support each other when tears are falling, and to open each others' minds with new ideas, insights, and perspectives. As my wise friend C said that fateful night, "I think we've reached enlightenment with SnickleSnackle." Well, almost. To get all the way there, we need your help.
SnickleSnackly Yours,
S & C
