About

Documentation of the Development Process: The purpose of this website is to not only promote our business, but to educate the client on the importance of the services we provide. The website has a flow from start to finish. Starting with the introduction and our mission statement. Then floating into why the client might need a wedding planner. Then into testimonials of not only on having a wedding planner, but our service. Then moving into examples of weddings we worked on. After that we introduce our package options and then an inquiry page for contact. Each page has a link at the bottom of it to the next page, almost as if the whole site can be read from start to finish with a few clicks.

Defense of the Final Product: I was shooting for a simple design of each page with consistencies such as the header and the footer. I wanted each page to flow into the next but also allow the user to navigate wherever they want to go at any time. The home page was for the introduction. A simple greeting and the mission statement of the company with a link to the next page. The Should I hire a wedding planner page was meant to give some quick thought and resources to make a sound decision of hiring a planner. Testimonials had a visually pleasing display of quotes from our previous clients. Example weddings show a collage of weddings we have done in the past. This is meant to be a visual page with little verbiage. The Packages page was meant to give the customer an idea of our packages but requiring them to inquire about prices. The contact page is simply for them to reach out with questions and date inquires. The color palette was meant to be simple an to express warm elegance. I wanted images to be consistent in size and drop shadow. The font types were chosen to show some elegance and class, although font types seem limited in the current sublime software. As stated above, each page is meant to flow into the next so the user can read it similar to a book. However, the user could choose to navigate anywhere at any time with the links above.

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth: As the wedding planning business grows, we can add more fine tuned packages. Other wedding planner packages I have seen are fairly simple like the ones provided but could be further detailed on what services are added or subtracted. In the future we can add more wedding example and testimonials. More articles and blogs on planning for the big day would also be beneficial. If this were project I would continue, I feel this is a good start of a website but much more in depth knowledge of HTML would be needed to improve the site. Considering what Java could add is another thought. I have done enough outside research to know HTML has so many commands and features that it will take a long time to master.
