The OverCrest rally team banded together in 2004. It started as a group of friends that worked on other rally teams helping them to fix their cars as they broke throughout a rally. Our very first car was a 1991 Nissan 240SX that we purchased with a blown motor. This was a the perfect candidate for the task, so the team set out to install a safety roll cage and other required rally equipment.
After building the car for approximately one year, it was finally time to compete in a rally. David Yumpkins, the team's driver, drove the car to a 5th place finish out of a field of 44 cars. It took seven more years to wear out the 240SX. At that point, the team was ready to move up into faster and more exciting adventures. They purchased their fully prepared Audi S1 and compete with it to this day.
