Random Short Poems/Phrases

The relatively recent ones, that is. I'm not going farther than halfway back in my book o'scribblings that nobody hardly sees. They wouldn't interest you and aren't relevant to my latest journal entry (June 24 03 II). Line breaks indicate new poems--they mostly get their own pages in the notebook, but I'm too lazy to do that here. Unedited, same punctuation, but all left-justified 'cause I'm DEFINITELY not indenting them and writing them in different styles like in the book.

Grenades on the grass
Green light go
The stump is purple-grey.

Sky arrow white
on cloud spider blue.

Whose solitude are you?

Love is for people who can't see
color.

Copper reflections
Off the walls
Why are you waiting?

Wandering poet
notebook in hand
searching.

Trees and berries and flowers, oh my--
Whose side are you on, anyway?

Reinforced plate glass keeps you out
And me in.

Who does the sunrise belong to?

Dew falling on hawthornes

5/29/03
Beans & spoons & monkeys
& jellybeans!
(Don't die grandpa)

6/3/03
That peculiar luminescent quality
(sun reflecting warming caressing living)
Happily rests on my wrist--
cheap plastic bracelet.

seven leagues
(a step from yesterday)

time is only precious when
you don't have enough of it
(enough being a surplus)

I've never been so alone--
a hedgehog in the rain.

Chattering people
are all the same--
mirrors of humanity.

6/24/03
Nowhere is anywhere--
Why should it matter to me?

Faded quilts
Dirty sheets
Caleb is naked in my dreams

god willing

Never your own
You are mine
Don't lie to me

Love is my ass on the carpet
And yours in the tub.
