change of heart
|
After some thought, I had a change of heart, and decided we should meet. I had to weigh out which would be best... never meeting, and not knowing if he were the "one" or taking the risk to find out. It would be much easier for me to meet him, find that we weren't meant to be, rather than to live the rest of my life wondering. I decided that IF things do work out with me and Moe after meeting, I would be willing to move to the west coast. Moe seemed happy that I'd become a little more flexible. When this first became an issue, I was totally against making a move outside of the state I work in. After rethinking it, and reading a few of his emails again where he mentioned that he would not let a job interfere with him being with his soul mate, I thought about how selfish my attitude seemed. We're discussing employment possibilities for me, in the event that we "click" real time. I know it sounds a little premature to be discussing a move at this point, for either of us. But me, I like covering all the angles in advance... and I like knowing where the other person stands on important issues, before they happen. I can't make sense of meeting someone you're interested in, especially someone who doesn't live nearby, without discussing the possibilities of what decisions you might be faced with if you happen to "click". Moe understands this, although he's a little more relaxed about the situation than I am. I did a little shopping for Moe while on vacation and today he got his package in the mail. He liked the things I sent... a small stuffed animal, a cassette with my favorite recordings with a printed copy of the lyrics to all the songs, a sample of the perfume I wear, a candle in my favorite scent and a chew toy for his dog. I also included a horoscope compatability reading for fun. He said, "I read the horoscopes that you sent and I'm available if you want to propose *big grin*." He sent me something too... some scented candles, a tape of him talking... rambling, as he calls it, a Ferrari Testarosa (Matchbox car *grin*) and a cute, big brown teddy bear wearing a red bow. We named him "Moe Bear." And later... the news came in... Moe got the position he'd interviewed for. He cleared things with his future boss, so the trip is still on. Seems he won't be starting work until around mid-October, but his boss said he could take ten days off in November. Moe and I discussed it, thought it made more sense for us to meet before he starts the new job... so guess what?? We're going to meet, very soon, despite my hesitations and my fears. Moe spent a few frustrating hours online trying to get an airline ticket. Every bid was rejected. We each took three airlines and started making phone calls. Round trip with less than two weeks advance - $1800!! No way! The last airline Moe called had a seven day advance ticket for $530. Still iffy. The next morning I found an email waiting for me. Hi cutie, "Like it or not, I'm coming. I made an airline reservation for the 4th of October until the 14th." Moe |
