School: I graduated from Rising Sun High School in May 1989 and received a two-year completion certificate from the Southeastern Career Center (in Versailles, IN) in Secretarial/Word Processing.
Why I decided to go to college:  After my mom passed away in 1998, I decided to do something I had always wanted to do.  After checking into a lot of colleges in our area, I found out about the WED program.  It fits my schedule and gives me time to be with my family.
Distance from the campus:  I used to live about 4 hours from the campus but now I live about an 1 1/2 away.
What do I want to be when I grow up:  Up until a few months ago, I was an Elementary Education major.  However, after taking the Philosophy course, I did some very major soul searching and discovered that I wanted to be a Business Major instead.  I have always worked in an office and the aspect of marketing has always intrigued me.  I graduated in 2004 and have my own business now!
Major: Marketing/2004 - Human Resource Management/Creative Writing Minor/Theology Minor - hopefully by 2009!
My first reaction to the campus: WOW!! What a place!  I felt at peace the moment I walked on campus.  I went and visited the shrine by the concrete bridge and sat on one of the benches staring at Mary.  I looked all around me and felt so at peace.  I knew this was the place I was meant to be!
How WED has affected my family:  My dad is very encouraging and has visited the campus with me. My boys love the fact that now, I have homework!  We sit down and do homework together, which is really special for us.  My friends have said they have seen a change in me, that I am more independent and a bit more outgoing now.  The men in my household have also learned how to do the laundry among other household chores
The worst thing I was ever told about WED:  That I would be writing 40 page essays EVERY day for my classes.  Don't always believe what you hear!!
The Worst class I have taken:  Well, if it had been high school, I would have said Biology. But you know what?  Even when I took Biology at SMWC, I actually LIKED it!!  I would have to say the worst class I took was Statistics wow!! But I managed to ace it!!
The BEST class I have taken so far:  That would be hard to say! I have had great success in all of my classes and all of my instructors have been absolutely fantastic!

One piece of advice:  Always let your advisors and instructors know what is happening in your life.  I speak from personal experience.
