Dearly Beloved.... In these modern times, many people forget the importance of Christ and the Church in their lives. They become too involved in their existence and forget the importance of coming to church and celebrating in the Holy Eucharist. Colossians 1:18 says, that Jesus is the Head of the body, the Church, He is the beginning. In Ephesians 5:23 it says, "For husband is head of his wife just as Christ is the head of the Church." In Ephesians 3:21 it says, "To him glory in the Church and in Christ to all generations." What is being said by all these verses? The message is all the same. The Church is a "holy" and "important" institution and furthermore, it is directly connected to Christ, Jesus. If one wants to be with Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit, then one must participate in the Lord's body, the Church. 1Timothy 3:15 tells us that we know how to behave in the household of God. This part of the verse tells us that we as Christians must behave in a certain way when we are in the Lords's house. It also means that we must not put our selfish interests before the well being of the Church. Mathew 18:17 says, "If he refuses to listen even to the Church, then treat him as you would a gentile or a tax collector". This verse serves as a reminder by our Lord that if one does not respect the church, then that person must be expelled. 1Timothy 3:15 also tells us that, the church is the pillar and foundation of truth and is guided by the living God. It serves to bring us all closer to him. This is of course, should be our goal in life. We should all at the end of our lives be ready to join our Heavenly Father once more in his Kingdom. Jesus himself says, "I am the way of the truth and life those who want to be with the Father, must come through me." The Church, being the Body of Christ, serves to bridge us to the Father. In these times we must remember the importance of the Church in our lives and hope that we will become closer to our Lord. Our Church is established for everyone and all are welcome into it.
Thank You and May God Bless you all.........
