My serious study of astrology began in 1993, at which time I devoured everything about astrology that I could get my hands on. For over three years I studied with my mentor and under her guidance, I quickly advanced in my knowledge of astrology. Once my private lessons ended, I continued my studies from books and by taking classes and workshops with many of today's well known astrologers including Robert Hand, Tracy Marks, Steven Forrest and J. Lee Lehman to name just a few. My fascination continues to grow with this -what shall we call it- science, art, craft? No matter how you choose to categorize it, astrology has been a part of human culture since the dawn of humanity, it is profound and touches something deep in our souls.
It was astrology that guided me to find Reiki more or less. Back in 1991 when I was given my first professional astrology reading, the astrologer commented that I was a healer and she asked me why I wasn't pursuing that. At the time I didn't know what she was talking about but I guess something clicked because I never forgot that comment. Over the next few years an aura reader and several other astrologers said the same thing, that I was a healer. However they also said, back then, that it wasn't coming through just yet. Then one day pretty much out of the blue, as predicted, I felt a strong desire to learn to be a healer. It was energy work that interested me. As I looked into different forms of energy healing I found myself drawn to Reiki.
