HISTORY:
Blackberry first enters the book by being startled by Fiver. He joins Hazel and saves Fiver and Pipkin from a dog by figuring out that they could float on a board across a river. Again he helps by finding out how snares work and in turn gets Bigwig free of one. He also thinks of the ingenious plan to escape Woundwort (using the floating trick) and carries out the plan that destroys him by making the dog come to Watership Down.
