When we retired we purchased a 28 X 72 four bedroom doublewide on 1/2 acre. The land was overrun with weeds and the house needed a lot of repairs. We really got the place for a song. The pictures show where we are at as of November 1st, 2006
Finally replaced the "plywood window" with a sliding glass door. A deck is in the plans.
We bought a double wide, repo'd, H.U.D. manufactured home on a dirt road. We are officially "trailer trash"!
A year later the road has been paved, the garage has been built and the house has been painted...
...weeds so bad we had to park the car in front of the house
The weeds are gone and we have planted five trees in the front yard
YUCK!!!
We fenced off the north side of the house for the dogs and some privacy..
The south side presented other challenges.
We replaced the steps with an 8x8 platform while we determine what to do here...
Some idiot actually placed the septic tank  in the driveway! Eventually we will have to replace it and we'll move it at that time.
We temporarily framed an area to surround the porch. The figurines are a present from our neighbors. Legend has it they bless the land
Do we need to say anything here?
We still need to move the gas bottle and replace the plywood window
Check out our garden to see what we did here.
