Re: Reference Letter for Mr. Eugene Moreland
************************************************************************
Dear Sir or Madam:
It has come to my attention that Mr. Eugene Moreland has applied for a position with your company. This letter is in support of his application for employment with your firm.
I have worked with Mr. Moreland for over one year on various Internet projects. You may want to view a sample of his work on my websites: http://www.angelfire.com/ny4/pharra and http://www.pharra.com.
These web sites are designed for use by my Jr. High school English Language Arts students as well as my masters level classes. Mr. Moreland volunteered countless hours to design the site, and diligently maintains the site free of charge for my students and me. His willingness to donate his time and knowledge is an aspect of his character that he brings to every project we have worked on together.
In addition, I am a PH.D. at the State University Of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Moreland has served as my proofreader and editor throughout the year long writing process of my dissertation. His ability to use the English language properly and his attention to detail demonstrates a tenacious dedication to whatever job he undertakes.
Recently, Mr. Moreland has traveled to several states to assist small businesses design and maintain their web sites, as well as providing technical support to those businesses. He still maintains support contact with those businesses, and readily volunteers his vast knowledge of systems and web site development to my students as well. My students enjoy their interaction with Mr. Moreland through e-mail and IRC messages during the school day. He is able to clearly communicate ideas and procedures to 11-15 year old students in terminology they can understand. This is a difficult undertaking when in immediate contact with these students, but Mr. Moreland can effectively teach and guide them using text based media in a distance teaching environment.
I believe Mr. Moreland would be a valuable asset to your company. I hope you will regard his application favorably.
Sincerely,
Pharra J. DeWindt-Herlan
