Many cyberterrorism experts agree that the scenario of a cyber attack that would completely disable the United States’ infrastructure is still years away. John Tritak, director of the Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office (CIAO) in Washington, said, “Clearly, the eventuality of such an attack is present… but I don’t think anyone has the cybercapability today to launch an attack that would cripple the nation’s infrastructure” (qtd. in Radcliff 46). However, the ever-advancing technology field and increasing prominence of computers in our daily lives may cause this possibility to arrive faster than expected.
