Wedding Present Hints!
This page contains one of two lists of wedding presents we could give a good home to.

Why two lists?  Well, for the same reason as we have two weddings, that our focus and attention in life is split I suppose.

See the
SCA wedding present hints on this page.

Top priority:
Our home entertainment system died and wed love a replacement.  It was a Sony DAV-540 5disc changer, with a radio built in [I think they are all like that.  If we can reuse the speakers, that would be fine by us.  Money towards this project would be great.

Id love something to listen to music on, a little hand held thing with a radio, like a IPOD or a competitor to an IPOD.  I do so love radio.

-A vaccum cleaner that is really good at dealing with long hair: him, me and two long haired dogs.

-Oneida stainless flatware pattern, Puccini,  for 12 plus serving pieces would be great.  See this link to it http://www.oneida.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/_p/Puccini/productID/a302ad83-dc39-4b0e-bff0-b78a61587d75/categoryID/5ab6875b-cf4b-4b10-8f4b-f3e5ff483a83

Our bed is currently a double but we'd like a queen sized mattress and box spring, and bed frame.  Money towards that project would be gratefully appreciated.

-we don't own a barbeque but we have a small back deck.
-a new toaster.
-a 12 cup coffee maker.
-a blender strong enough to make fruity drinks.
-all white dishes [a dinner plate, a side plate, a bowl and a  mug] for 12.  Our current ones are chipping.
-a nice stainless steel set of cutlery for 12, with serving pieces.  I
-more red wine glasses by Riedel
-recycled pale green Spanish glass wineglasses for everyday.
-more different patterns blue and white serving sized pieces from Chinatowns [but not the fish ones].  We also like plain white serving pieces.

My silver tea pot was stolen when I moved from Victoria- a nice old one of these could be very pretty and frivolous.

I want the glass doors for my tall white foil  IKEA Billy bookcases- these are $75 a door but would protect our old books.

-CD stand thing that is about $40 from IKEA to match the white foil Billy bookcases.

-a new office chair for Randy
-two guitar stands for his treasures
-a hard case for his acoustic guitar so we could take it places

We like red wines, thicker, smokier ones.
We both like pale ales, of many different kinds.
Wed use movie tickets or Blockbuster rental credits.

Id love Seasons 3-through the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

We shop at places like London Drugs, Walmart and Save on Foods, if people would like to give us gift certificates.

Anyone wanting to contribute to the wedding expenses will get our undying gratitude.

What our house is currently like:
People say its easier to buy something for people whose houses they have seen, so if you havent, here is a description of the things in it.  As we are in a rented place, all things related to the rented place may change.  [We may move again, sigh.]

We are each cluttery people, so tidy is rarely what it is, but its very creative!

The living room is dark red walls and chairs and sofa are covered in a mix of red and green prints.

We are both avid readers so every wall is covered in bookcases.  The tallest bookcases could use the addition of doors; they are an Ikea bookcase, so take a specific door [tall white foil for a  Billy bookcase] that is only really available to folks near an Ikea, so there you are.

The bedroom walls are white, and our current bed linens are white, butter yellow, soft mid green, dark forest green,  and are variously plain or flowered, or clovered etc.  There are lilac and white sheers on the windows.

Our bathroom is blue, a medium blue.  Our towels are lilac, white, darker plum but we have plenty thanks to the bridal shower..  New facecloths would be nice, in lilac, yellow, beige, green, etc.

Randy absolutely loves all-cotton bathmats.  One for every day of the week would probably make him pretty happy.  Current bathmats are one white, and one a light greeny/beigy colour.

Our current kitchen is a nondescript light blue colour with tan trim and cabinets; I tend to paint them butter yellow.  colour of things we like in kitchens are 1940's red and green, chrome, happy things.

I have enough vases to sink a ship so we don't need any more, especially as we are without a garden right now.

I don't use either placemats or tablecloths, which tend to get spilled on [Randy].  I do like to use nicer paper napkins and cloth napkins.
I have been known to use a table runner, if its fairly plain or a jacquard.
The dining room table is Norden from Ikea, and its has a leaf you can put in it, Min. length: 220 cm, Max. length: 266 cm, Width: 100 cm, and seats 8.
