Chapter Five

"Clark!" Lana and Chloe grabbed him by the underarms and dragged him out of the flames. Luckily, only the the bottom of his pants were ruined. They poured the remaining "water" on the flames that had arisen on his pants to put them out.

They gasped when they saw his legs. They had not been even slightly charred, not the tiniest bit of fire had an effect on him. Still, he groaned.

"What did you slip him?" Lana asked.

Derek smirked and glanced back at Nick who was trying to make out with Aaron. Both had drank too much and were seeing things...and doing things. "Nick! Aaron! Dudes! Get a grip!" he turned back to Lana. "We had a number of options. But we liked the one we decided on the best. At first we were going to slip him something to loosen him up, he was being quite a drag before you girls showed up."

Lana felt dizzy but she kept her found. "Will they kill him?"

Derek scoffed, "Oh please. they were just amphetamines. They'll wear off in about an hour or so."

Pete listened carefully. Although he was not completely there, he was still able to comprehend what was happening. Amphetamines shouldn't be able to do anything to Clark, his body should be able to resist most kinds of drugs. "What else?"

Derek looked at pete curiously, "What do you mean 'what else'?"

Pete focused his eyes and stood up straighter, "You must have... done something else to them to...make him go out that fast."

Derek smirked, "My brother is a dealer, he does a lot of stuff to them. I dont know particularly what he does to each one."

Pete stepped forward and grabbed him by the shirt collar, "Dude! What do you know?"

Derek pushed Pete away and he went flying back into two senior boys. "I only know that these particular ones were enhanced with a new discovery, made on part of my brother." He smiled proudly, as if this was something to be proud of.

Pete picked himself up, "What...is it...?"

Derek smirked again, "Meteor rocks."

"Meteor rocks..." Pete repeated. Oh crap, this wasn't good.

Clark moaned, this can't be happening. How was he going to get meteor rocks out of his system? He still, over all the pain he was feeling, felt different. He still felt something in him that wanted to fight back.

He stood up and ambled towards derek. "You have no idea what you've done." Derek began to look afraid.

"Dude, it's a joke!" he complied. He looked at Clark's eyes, they were flaring a nasty red and were swirling with a hazy mist, that showed signs of drunkenness and druggedness.

Clark moved faster towards him, "There is no joking when it comes to drugs." He almost fell over but he caught himself, clutching his hand over his stomach. Derek began to run away. Clark super sped and stopped him in his tracks. "Don't mess around with me." He pushed him and he went flying, flying as in flying, as in, with the birds, and he landed on top of Nick.

"Aww, man, get off me!" he said, letting Derek roll of his back.

Derek lifted himself from the ground, staring at Clark horrified, "How...how did you do that."

Clark grinned, "There are a lot of things that you dont know about me."

Pete stumbled over to Clark, catching himself before he fell over on top of some of the boys. He fell on Clark's back. Clark spun around, catching Pete before he fell to the ground.

What have i done? pete asked himself. Clark might reveal everything!

He pretended like he needed to throw up and Clark held him tight. Then he grabbed Clark by the waist and wrestled him to the ground. The girls screeched and ran over to them. Clark was so surprised by Pete's sudden courage that he didn't do anything. Carefully, Pete slipped his hand into Clark's pocket.

"Dude! What are you doing?" Clark asked, horrified by his friend's actions.

"This won't hurt!" Pete said. The girls grabbed him by the arms and tried to pull him off. He grabbed at the red kryptonite fragment in his pocket and pulled it out just as the girls gave one last effort and finally pulled him off. They all went flying backwards and Lana stood right back up and ran back over to Clark.

"Clark! Are you alright?" he was laid sprawled out on the ground. She watched him carefully. His eyes were no longer red and hazy, but soft and the blue green they should be. "Clark?"

He sat himself up, "Lana...I..." he was out of breath and searching for an explanation. He fell back to the ground, the pain was too much! He couldn't contain it anymore. He looked up again. Pointing behind Lana and towards the woods he pretended to scream, "OH MY GOD! LOOK!" everyone looked at where he was pointing.

Lana jumped when he screamed and looked. When she looked back, he was gone. "Clark?"
