Tunku received numerous awards in recognition of his role and efforts from State and Federal Governments, universities, charity organizations and foreign governments.  

 

Right to the end of his long life he remained vocal and active, deeply concerned with national, regional and global issues. He wrote articles for his 'As You See It' columns in the daily tabloid, The Star. He also wrote several books such as 'Viewpoints', 'Something to Remember', 'Let's We Forget', 'Challenging Times', 'May 13, Before and After', 'Political Awakenings', Contemporary Issues in Malaysian Politics' and 'As A Matter of Interest'.

   Memorial Tunku Abd Rahman


The Tunku Abdul Rahman  Memorial represents a lasting symbol of the nation's gratitude to a great leader and statesman, Tunku Abdul Rahman , who freed the nation from the yoke of colonial domination.
The Memorial is housed at the site of the Residency which Tunku once occupied as the nation's Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
 It provides permanent custody for all archival, museum and library materials belonging or relating to the late Tunku.
Visitors and researchers have the benefit of not only viewing the materials on display, but can conduct self research into the life and times of Malaysia's premier statesman.
The Memorial comprises three buildings. The Residency is the main building flanked by two newly constructed buildings.
 The additional structures provide extra space for displays as well as working area and storage of materials.
