Blade I

  • Revealing mistakes: During the fight in the Temple just before Blade recovers his sword, you can see the ground move and a stunt man bounce due to an ill-concealed mat.

  • Continuity: When Deacon is talking to Karen in the Edgewood Tower before Blade arrives the box of Camel cigarettes in the bottom left corner changes positions throughout the scene.

  • Crew or equipment visible: Towards the end of the movie, when Blade is trying to retrieve his sword from a wall, a cast member can be seen clearly in the background, jumping up and down, apparently preparing to enter the ensuing fight scene.

  • Continuity: In the final fight between Blade and Frost, the bloodstain on Frost switches from the left side of his face to the right, then back to the left.

  • Continuity: The "receiver" in Blade's left ear is not there after the punch to the face but is there after the silver spike was embedded in his shoulder by Quinn.

  • Factual errors: EDTA (ethylenediaminetetracetate), the anticoagulant Blade uses in the glass darts, is not blue. The powdered form is white and produces a clear, colorless solution.

  • Continuity: When Blade is being injected with serum in the hideout he spots Karen trying to escape. Whistler lets go of Blade's hand to pursue Karen, but then a close up on Blade has Whistler still holding it.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The vampires do not seem concerned at any time about the damage caused to their original Bible, despite its importance historically and to their immediate plans. That's because it's the information and not the artifact that's important, and the information has all been stored on Frost's computer.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the final fight, it's obvious where Blade has a stunt double, especially in the slow-motion sequence when the sword/rock/serum is falling around him.

  • Continuity: When Blade collapses nearly unconscious out of the blood collection chamber, his hands are at his sides. When he hits the floor, they are above his head and help support his fall.

  • Continuity: Smoke rises from Karen's collar while she is lying on the table before she is injected with the Essence of Garlic. It is in the shot that ends with Whistler reading her ID Badge.

  • Continuity: When Blade and Quinn are fighting in the subway, Blade pushes Quinn's face against the train and it gets very messed up but right when he pulls it off his face is normal.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Blade silently mouths "What... the... fuck?", the crew is reflected in his sunglasses.

  • Continuity: When Quinn bites Dr. Jenson, the doctor's wig slips to the side and we see a glimpse of her real hair. In the next shot, her wig is back in place.

  • Continuity: Karen's bandages, covering Quinn's bite, change positions.

  • Continuity: Before beginning the final fight, Blade jumps from the top of the temple. While jumping, his vest is undone. When he lands, his vest is completely done up.

  • Continuity: The blonde vampire (Mercury) is wearing her white coat when she leads the purebloods to the glyphs. When Deacon says, "bring the elevator up," she's not wearing the coat, but it reappears the next time we see her.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Deacon Frost has decoded the text, and is looking at the image of the chamber, and the positions the purebloods must stand in are being shown with a click for each one, there are 21 clicks, but only 12 purebloods are needed, plus one position at the centre for Deacon.

  • Continuity: In the subway, Mercury's dress changes from white to blue back to white again due to the ultraviolet lights that were used to light some of the SFX shots (lights that wouldn't normally exist in a subway tunnel).

  • Continuity: When the lightning strikes the temple, you see it strike the assembled coffin/sarcophagus that Blade had been locked in, but this is after Karen has let him out. A little later you see that the halves are still apart.

  • Continuity: When Blade first opens the freezer to get to Pearl, there is lettuce in the top shelf. When he reopens the freezer and starts down the stairs, the top shelf has a tray covered in foil on it and the lettuce is gone.

  • Factual errors: During the subway tunnel fight, the subway train takes over 60 seconds to pass by Blade and Quinn. If the train is traveling at 30 mph, then the train would have to be a half-mile long, or 66 train cars at 40 feet per car. A standard subway train is 8 or 10 cars long.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the background of the vampire nightclub after Blade's small killing spree a man is visible in the background, covered in head to toe with blood, however his bright blue shorts don't have a speck on them, even though it rained from the roof a few moments beforehand.

  • Continuity: At the end of the film, during the time the flying skeletons exit the vampires' burning bodies, the same bodies are unburnt and visible in the wide-angle shots. This is particularly noticeable when it comes to the two female vampires.

  • Continuity: In the fight between Deacon and Blade in the temple, Deacon jumps up wearing white shoes and comes down wearing black shoes.

  • Continuity: In the subway, Karen falls into the gap between the subway train and the walkway; the gap is wide enough for her to stand up and give Blade his sword. In all other shots, the gap between the train and the walkway is clearly three or four inches at most.

  • Plot holes: The ritual is supposed to require 12 Elders, yet Frost kills one of them before the ritual starts. If he didn't bring a replacement, it shouldn't have worked.

Blade II

  • Revealing mistakes: During the final battle where Whistler throws Blade his sunglasses, Whistler's actions in the background are inconsistent, revealing that it was not a straight throw-and-catch and that some editing trickery was used.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the Vampire HQ when Scud hits Whistler the second time, we hear the sound of the punch first before we see the hit.

  • Continuity: During the opening action sequence, Blade briefly disappears from the alley during a special effects shot.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Blade, Whistler and Scud confront the head Vampire, an earlier shot of Whistler talking, but with the audio removed, is used as a reaction shot, leaving Whistler to appear to foolishly mouth a line he has just said.

  • Continuity: Nyssa tells Blade that she is a "pure blood" (born a vampire) but she has a scar above her lip and fillings in her teeth. According to the logic of the movie, a pure blood vampire would never scar and, we might infer, would never need dental treatment.

  • Crew or equipment visible: Towards the end of the film, a dead vampire is bleeding blue blood and the tube producing the "blood" is visible.

  • Continuity: In a close-up of Whistler after has speaks with Blade, Blade has jumped some distance away, where previously they were standing together (the shot of Blade walking away was cut).

  • Continuity: When Blade and the Bloodpack are in the vampire club searching, Verlaine has the UV Filter on her weapon on, but in the next shot it's off.

  • Continuity: The blood stain on the wall following Nomak's first attack in the blood bank.

  • Continuity: After Snowman stabs the mutant vampire in the nightclub, he places his hands on the hilt of his sword twice without taking them off.

  • Continuity: When Chupa is firing his machine gun at a fleeing Reaper in the vampire nightclub he accidentally shoots two ordinary vampires, one of whom is wearing a distinctive red outfit. Then in the next shot, the Reaper has moved along the wall a little way and Chupa is still firing at it he accidentally kills the same two ordinary vampires again. The distinctive outfits make it obvious.

  • Continuity: After the underground battle, Nyssa lies injured and a golden torc can be seen around her neck as she lies panting. In the next shot, Blade raises her head from the ground, and the torc is gone.

  • Continuity: When Whistler throws the sunglasses to Blade towards the end of the film, in the near shot of Blade catching the sunglasses, Whistler can clearly be seen in the background "throwing" the sunglasses again well after they are caught.

  • Continuity: After the fight scene between Blade, Asad, and Nyssa; where Blade tells the 2 of them to remove their masks, Nyssa begins to remove her mask with her left hand and then in the next shot we see it has become her right hand.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When the group is about to enter the House of Pain, a crew member can bee seen crouching next to the door when the Bloodpack approaches it.

  • Continuity: When Blade is put on the machine to drain his blood, the bed of spikes should pierce everything including his clothes, but later on we see that nothing has been pierced.

  • Continuity: When Blade first enters the Vampires headquarters, Nyssa pushes several buttons on a keypad that light up in red. When we see the keypad again, a different set of buttons are lit.

  • Continuity: When Blade fights Nomak the first time, they pass through enough daylight to cast shadows, but Nomak does not react to the light cast on him.

  • Continuity: When Rush is charging at Blade on the motorcycle he dodges Blade's weapon and Blade is crouching at the end of the alley. In the next shot Blade is standing and spins into a crouching position to catch his weapon.

  • Continuity: When Rush throws his motorcycle into a "lowside" skid Blade jumps over the tail of the bike, but the next shot shows him jump over and kick Rush square in the back.

  • Continuity: When the autopsy is performed it is one under ultra violet light which is harmful to vampires. This seems to have no effect on any of them.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Damaskinos is running towards a helicopter to escape, a camera shadow is visible across his back.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Nyssa is dying in the sewer, Blade cuts his wrist to let her drink. But his sword has no blood on it.

Blade Trinity

  • Continuity: When Danica Talos' crew comes to pickup Blade, one of them has a cigarette in his mouth when he reaches down to release the arm restraint, but it disappears in subsequent shots.

  • Continuity: Towards the end of the movie when Danica contracts the virus, she is shown lying on the stairway wearing black panties. When we see her again right before she dies, she is wearing white panties.

  • Continuity: When Hannibal rescues Blade from the police station, he puts the aerosol into Blades mouth. It disappears and reappears in subsequent shots.

  • Continuity: When Drake is on the rooftop with the baby, Drake's lower fangs disappear briefly.

  • Continuity: At the beginning of the movie we see Blade being filmed while he shoots the vampire-wannabe. Just before Blade runs away from the "murder scene" we see the photographer put the camera down and start laughing. But, when we see the film on TV, we see Blade running away.

  • Continuity: When Hannibal King accidentally falls through the skylight after killing the vamp dogs, he bangs his head on the bar than runs across it, slightly bending it. When the SWAT cops storm the building soon after, the bar across the skylight has no bend in it.

  • Continuity: When Drake kills the goth girl, he rips off her dog collar twice.

  • Continuity: The position of Hannibal King's tatto/gliph changes from very low in his pelvic area in one scene to right under his waist line in a late scene.

  • Errors in geography: In one of the motorcycle street shots halfway through the movie, on the left of the screen the stationary camera clearly shows the sign for the Vancouver City Police's East Hastings detachment, including phone number.

  • Revealing mistakes: At the start of the movie one of the vampires (the one second from the back) has skin exposed to the sunlight just under his glove. Since he's a Vampire his skin should burn upon contact with the sunlight, but it doesn't.

  • Continuity: After Blade is arrested, the psychiatrist's jacket is alternately open/closed between shots.

  • Continuity: When Blade first jumps his car out of the semi-truck, one of the left-hand taillights is out. Seconds later, it is fixed.

  • Continuity: While King is being interrogated, Danica kicks him in the face with her heel and he falls backwards. The shot cuts to Danica, but when it cuts back to King he is on his hands and knees.

  • Continuity: When Blade, Hannibal and Abbey are rescued at the police station, the SUV smashes through the barricade and tears away at least one headlight. After picking the trio up, the SUV drives away. The front end is intact. No headlights are broken.

  • Revealing mistakes: During the fight between Triple H and Ryan Reynolds, there are a few punches that clearly don't hit the other person, yet they stumble back as if they've been hit.

  • Revealing mistakes: Towards the end of the fight in the interrogation room in police HQ, Jarko is thrown through the wall. In the frontal shot of that, the wall caves in before he hits it.
